So, we met as a party of four at the Turmpalast Cinema yesterday and enjoyed the "Angels & Demons" movie, performed by Tom Hanks, Armin Mueller-Stahl and lots of other actors. The movie was a kind of modern action fairy tale, with a Prof. Langdon (Tom Hanks) debunking a conspiracy against the catholic church.
We had a free choice of seats in the cinema for we stayed the only viewers ...

Afterwards we went to the "Bull & Bear" restaurant and talked about the movie, God and the world - in English, of course. We try to install a regular meeting of this group every last Wednesday each month, around 18:00.

To bad that I cant be there with you guys I know your a fun group well I haven't seen the movie yet but its always crowded in our movies I guess I wait till I can rent it and look at it at home with popcorn ,really like to here you Guy's comments

well, HF, i am proud and happy having been able to slightly follow the plot - at least find out who are the good guys and who the bad. Much action happened, most of the time the heroes were running around talking breathlessly. Partly Italian. If they were not running, they were speeding with always ready cars (black).
The replica of course were impressive, but everything was so fast that you could not enjoy it. Additionally I think i voted for the wrong party - the vatican seems to stay an iron built institution working with effects. Yes, impressive effects, cruel and spooky that from time to time I had to turn my head to the side. At the end i was frozen to stone with tension.

But cinema is much better than television - today i found the book in the supermarket and could have bought, flipped through the pages: just action. No subtil, psychological writing as i prefer.

Nevertheless it has been a nice experience with three witty, friendly people talking and eating baked sheep cheese, longing for a cigarette but withstood until Australian left as the first one with the excuse needing his beauty sleep.

Then we talked about zodiac signs and that this to be just crap. (I did not quite share this opinion and looked everybody up at home, what sign they are). At home - that was about midnight.

So, there should be a lot of mistakes in my report - but therefore i want to learn.

The good guys and the bad guys. It`s always the same: the bad guys are those with the softest voices. Any contradiction?

It was not necessary to hold somebodys hand. There is no dramatic lovestory in the plot. Really. Though it's an american movie.

Next time we want to talk about Winnie the Pooh and his zodiac sign (goodness - google help me!). And Piglet. Is there any congeniality?
This might be as interesting and amusing as the story between the dwarf, the pengiun and the nun.

Hi ho fellow followers of the English word..

pleased to hear that we all had a good time. I missed most of the film as I got my foot caught in between the two seats in front of me and spent all the time wrestling it out again. Cat, it was not an excuse that I needed my beauty sleep... It is true and I also needed to walk home. I enjoyed the film, the bit I saw, but most of all the fast and witty conversation afterwards.

Off to the Baltic States now, back in a fortnight.

You are so right, there was no small nun - not in the film, nor in town, neither in europe or in the world - poor dwarf.

Next time I will tell you something about Joe Cocker aka Johnny Cash and the small nun being with him on the stage in Günthersburgpark. Or was it a phantasm only?
